When Netflix decided to have a TV series adaptation of the literary classic Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, they made a pretty wise decision of casting none other than Neil Patrick Harris to play the role of the famous villain, Count Olaf. NPH pays the role as an antagonist of the series as he tries to deceive the Baudelaire children into getting the fortune left behind by their deceased parents.
As portrayed in the book, Count Olaf hides beneath multiple disguises and plots to foil the three children: Violet (Malina Weissman), Klaus (Louis Hynes), and Sunny (Presley Smith). No matter what trick he tries, Count Olaf's disguises never seem to work as the children are able to see through them and learn what the antagonist is after.
Apart from looking forward to the different disguises NPH will be wearing, Netflix has highlighted the past of the parents to introduce them to the viewers.
The TV series should not be confused with the 2004 film adaptation of the same title that starred Jim Carrey as the infamous count.
Catch A Series of Unfortunate Events on Netflix.
